Wind-resistant roof rebuilding in Grand’Anse
Across the Grand’Anse department, recurring hurricanes cyclically rip apart unreinforced timber roof trusses on rural residences. This program deploys a standardized reconstruction kit comprising galvanized hurricane straps, through-bolts, treated wood rafters, and heavy-gauge zinc sheeting.
Field construction supervisors inspect bearing walls to confirm masonry stability before securing the upper wall plate. This ensures uplift aerodynamic loads are uniformly dissipated through the masonry rather than tearing eaves loose.
Homeowners participate in hands-on workshops focused on bolt re-tightening and waterproof washer replacement along panel seams.
