Drinking water distribution in Deir al-Balah
In the central Gaza Strip the water network and treatment plants work intermittently, and part of the population depends on water delivered by truck. The project supplies collection points in the areas of Deir al-Balah that host displaced families, fitted with ground tanks and shared taps.
The water comes from desalination plants and from wells that are still working. Before each distribution the teams measure residual chlorine in the tanks, and the volumes delivered are recorded point by point. The unit follows the equivalence the organization states: 9 euros cover one week of drinking water for 113 people.
Médecins Sans Frontières states that it provides clean water to 400,000 people every month in Gaza. The goal, progress and updates on this page are demonstration figures, not data reported by the organization.
